The 2015 Miss USA pageant airs live from Baton Rouge on July 12, and Gossip Cop has a first-look at this year’s contestants! See their photos below!

This year the annual beauty pageant has been plagued with controversy in recent weeks stemming from comments pageant owner Donald Trump made during his presidential announcement speech in June. As Gossip Cop reported, Trump said during his speech that Mexican immigrants were “criminals” and “rapists,” who brought problems to the U.S.

Trump’s offensive remarks led to a number of Miss USA performers, hosts and judges to quit the pageant. As Gossip Cop noted, Univision, which airs a Spanish-language version of the pageant, said last week it was cutting ties with the business mogul, and would not be airing the show later this month. NBC also followed suit, saying in a statement that it was not going to show the pageant on its network. The Reelz network has since stepped in, announcing that it would air the Miss USA pageant.

The backlash for Trump, however, didn’t end there. A number of stars slated to perform at the event have backed out, including Flo-Rida, country singer Craig Wayne Boyd, and pop star Natalie La Rose. The pageant has also lost its judges, including HGTV star Jonathan Scott, E! News host Terrence Jenkins, former Miss Universe winner Zuleyka Rivera and Emmit Smith. So far, country singer Jessie James Decker is the only judge remaining.

Earlier this week, former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Cheryl Burke and MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts also said they would no longer be co-hosts for Miss USA. And as Gossip Cop previously reported, Roselyn Sanchez and Cristian de la Fuente were slated to host the Spanish-language version of the show on Univision, but announced they were stepping down. Jeannie Mai of “The Real” is still listed on the Miss USA website as a host for the evening.

Despite the drama surrounding the Miss USA pageant, the show is still slated to air in a few short weeks. Check out the slideshow below of this year’s Miss USA contestants, and tell us who you are rooting for.
